5 Things to do in Mammoth Springs

Mammoth Springs State Park

People say the water is freezing, but it’s not. It’s just really cold. The State Park has walking trails, picnic grounds, a play area plus canoes, kayaks and pedal boats. Walk across the dam and feel the temperature difference as the air meets the water.

Tourism Day — May 12

The city of Mammoth Springs celebrates visitors to the area with an annual day. The Welcome Center kicks off Tourism week with free music, balloons for the kids and free entry door prizes from area merchants. There’s also area information available at the Welcome Center where folks can find out about all the things to do in the area.

Kid’s to Parks Day — May 19

Let’s face it. All parents want to connect with their children and there’s no better way to do it than a trip to the park. Plus it has the added bonus of letting the kids run wild and play outside. Mammoth Springs State Park hosts a kid’s day with age friendly programming, fun activities and a chance to earn the Arkansas State Park Explorers badge.

Free Kid’s Fishing Derby — June 9

The cold water from the springs makes for excellent fishing and what better way to introduce the kiddos to angling than a free fishing day…
