Embeth listened to the burly Russian stutter through a sentence.

“What did he say?” she asked the young mafioso.

“He asked if you would sleep with him for a million dollars.”

Embeth glanced up and down at the thick Russian.

He leered under a thick Cro-Magnon brow, his six foot four frame a bookend to the giant next to him on the stool.

“He doesn’t have a million dollars,” she dismissed with a sneer.

The Russian bodyguard sputtered again.

“He asked if you would do it for ten million dollars?” his boss leered all on his own.

They were testing her, she knew.

Trying to get her to turn around and walk away.

It was an attitude she was used to dealing with all of her life.

Men who underestimated her.

“Sure,” she scoffed.

The men guffawed.

“Now that he has established you are a whore, it’s time to negotiate,” the young boss translated.

The men laughed more, ignoring her.

Embeth sighed.
