Kat meets a group of misfits, renegades, and unwanted young witches.

“Okay, so we’ve got eight names on the list so far,” Kat said, running her finger down the page. “But we still need four more.”

Ophelia nodded, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms. “We want a diverse group, with a variety of magical gifts and backgrounds,” she said. “Misfits, renegades, outcasts. People who have nowhere else to go.”

Kat nodded, understanding. She knew all too well what it felt like to be an outcast. “What about Addison?” she suggested. “I heard she can control fire.”

Ophelia raised an eyebrow. “Addison Thompson? She’s been kicked out of three covens already. She’s reckless and unpredictable.”

“But she’s powerful,” Kat argued. “And she’s young, just like the rest of us. Maybe with some guidance and structure, she could learn to control her gift.”

Ophelia considered this for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, put her on the list. What about the others?”

Kat thought for a moment. “What about Connor? He’s a shapeshifter, and he’s been kicked out of his pack. And I know a ghost who’s been haunting the same house for years, because no one believes she’s really there. Her name is Lily.”

Ophelia nodded, making a note on the page. “Good choices. And the last one?”

Kat sighed, feeling the weight of the task on her shoulders. They needed one more person, someone special, someone who would round out their coven perfectly. Suddenly, an idea came to her. “I know who we should ask,” she said, a smile spreading across her face. “Nina. She’s a prophet, and she’s been shunned by her community for her visions. But she’s smart and resourceful, and I think she’d be a great addition to the coven.”

Ophelia nodded, a smile of her own forming. “I agree. Nina sounds like a perfect fit. Let’s reach out to all of these people and see if they’re interested in joining us.”

Kat grinned, feeling a sense of excitement and purpose wash over her. This was it, their chance to build something special, something unique. The Crescent City Coven was starting to take shape, and she couldn’t wait to see what the future…
