City Magic — an urban fantasy adventure
Chapter
Kat meets a group of misfits, renegades, and unwanted young witches.
“Okay, so we’ve got eight names on the list so far,” Kat said, running her finger down the page. “But we still need four more.”
Ophelia nodded, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms. “We want a diverse group, with a variety of magical gifts and backgrounds,” she said. “Misfits, renegades, outcasts. People who have nowhere else to go.”
Kat nodded, understanding. She knew all too well what it felt like to be an outcast. “What about Addison?” she suggested. “I heard she can control fire.”
Ophelia raised an eyebrow. “Addison Thompson? She’s been kicked out of three covens already. She’s reckless and unpredictable.”
“But she’s powerful,” Kat argued. “And she’s young, just like the rest of us. Maybe with some guidance and structure, she could learn to control her gift.”
Ophelia considered this for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, put her on the list. What about the others?”
Kat thought for a moment. “What about Connor? He’s a shapeshifter, and he’s been kicked out of his pack. And I know a ghost who’s been haunting the same house for years, because no one believes she’s really there. Her name is Lily.”
