Do You Have a Favorite Christmas Memory?

I wish I had more Christmas memories.

We didn’t have Facebook growing up.

Which I’m both sad about and grateful for.

Sad, because Facebook pops up “Memories from this Day” and I get to see pictures from the last decade of all the adventures accomplished and things done.

Kids when they were little. First dates. Runs ran.

Things like that.

I am grateful though, because if you lived through the 80’s, our fashion sense was on point.

And scary.

I have a thousand old photographs in a Rubbermaid tub in the attic.

The plan is to have them converted to digital and uploaded to a digital frame to share with my brother, and then my children.

It would be people they didn’t know well, though.

My side of the family. Papaw, who they remember, sort of. Mamaw, who they know as an old lady hardly moving.

Aunts and Uncles they know by name, too many cousins to mention that they don’t.

I don’t know if it’s a gift from a dying town, or a way of life dying or just my brother and I both left Pine Bluff, while our cousins just moved to the outskirts.
