Have You Worked on Your Goals for Next Year Yet?

I’m talking about words.

Though if you thought money, I wouldn’t blame you.

It would be nice if it was dollars.

Or fans who would go spend their dollars.

That might be putting the cart in front of the horse.

If you plan to write 10k words per day in your book, then you could eventually reach 10,000 readers who will buy them.

10,000 in one day is not out of the question. For dollars or words.

I saw a post about a challenge.

A group of authors teamed up to motivate and inspire each other to reach the goal of 10,000 words per day.

They did what all good goals need: a metric that can be measured and a time limit to reach it.

10 x 10,000 is 100,000 words.

That’s 2 50,000 word novels. It’s 1 epic fantasy. It’s a couple of urban fantasy novels. Or it’s 10 complete short stories to build a back list.

No matter how you slice it, this is a good challenge.

But how to you write so much?

The same way you eat an elephant.

One bite at a time.
