Hearth and Gnome — a story

Once upon a time, in a magical forest, there lived a gnome named Glimmer.

Glimmer was a hardworking gnome who spent all his days tending to his garden and collecting treasures.

He was very proud of his garden and treasures, but he was also envious of the other creatures in the forest.

He wished that he had their talents, their possessions and their status.

One day, Glimmer saw a beautiful butterfly fluttering around his garden.

The butterfly was so graceful and elegant, and Glimmer wished that he could fly like the butterfly.

He was filled with envy and he couldn’t stop thinking about how much better his life would be if he could fly.

Glimmer was so envious that he stopped taking care of his garden, and he stopped visiting his friends.

He became so consumed with his envy that he became depressed and lonely.

One day, Glimmer saw the butterfly again and he asked the butterfly why it was so happy and carefree.

The butterfly told Glimmer that it was happy because it accepted its own unique talents and abilities and that it was content with what it had.

He realized that his envy had caused him to neglect his garden, his friends and his own happiness.

Glimmer decided to change his ways and he started to take care of his garden again.

He also visited his friends and shared his talents with them.
