How many books do you read each year?

I read a lot of books.

Tons of articles, and blog posts and news.

I may have bragged before about reading 52 books a year or more. Some folks double that.

Some say that’s too much.

Who has the time?

One of the blog posts told me to schedule time to read.

Actually put it on your calendar.

When I lived in Florida, I spent every other weekend alone.

Or mostly alone, depending on who I was dating at the time.

I had a couple of chairs around the pool, and every other weekend, I would get up, go for a long run, then sit beside the pool to recover.

And read. A lot.

I did an experiment with sauna training.

I would go into a sauna with a book and not leave for a couple of hours.

There are a ton of physiological benefits to prolonged exposure to intense heat, which was really good for long distance running.

Not so much for retaining what you read.

I have a partially photographic memory.

Which makes me great with directions and places I’ve been at least once.
