Out with the old and in with the renewed?

The water heater went out this week.

Specifically, the twenty year old tank cracked and sprang a leak.

We noticed when a stream of water started leaking from under the wallboard and across the garage floor.

I think it was the sub-zero temperatures that stressed the metal.

That and age.

Age may be the biggest factor in stressing.

Because some of my joints just feel sore when it’s really cold outside.

Unlike the hot water heater, I can’t call the plumber for a replacement.

What I’m hoping will happen is technology will advance enough where I can inject nanobots into my bloodstream and they will start rebuilding everything.

Which would have been nice to do with the water heater.

Tiny little robots swimming to the crack, then sealing it.

The tech of it is there.

But we’re too distracted by Twitter wars and actual wars to make it a reality.

Not yet.

I tried to explain to my friend why I’m disappointed in 2023.

It was not the future we were promised.
