What’s going to be BIG in 2025?

Well, according to the man who predicted Tik Tok would make me a millionaire, if I got it right, it’s Live Shopping.

So I have to consider what to do about that starting next year.

And though a lot of people are going to compare it to QVC, that’s like an eight hour commercial for stuff.

I think folks he get it best and get it right, it will be almost like branded entertainment.

You’ve seen some recent examples of this with product placement in sitcoms and dramas.

Watch an episode of Yellowstone and you’ll see brands plastered all over the place.

Ariat.

Dodge Rams.

X and X trailers.

So and so bits and bridles.

Even Starbucks, when it gets mentioned in a negative light.

One could argue, should one choose, that it is a long commercial with a little drama interspersed between the ad breaks.

But it shows the action and entertainment, with the brand in the background.

Dodge trucks doing “work”

Racing backroads.

Hauling horses and showing power.

I watched Gary Vee’s children’s show, Vee Friends.

A three minute flash animation program for the characters he created called VeeFriends.

And while it has yet to promote brands within the three minute program, it does have the shop with the branded merchandise showing under each episode.

It also features heavily in his LIVE on WhatNot, a live streaming platform that he’s started a heavy rotation on.

So how does this work for you?

I’m not sure yet.

There will be a lot of resistance at first.

Because it’s new, and everybody hates change.

There will be a lot of “I will never!” statements from people who also said they would never “spend that much time online” or “get one of those smart phones that track me.”

Etc, et al.

A bunch of excuses as to why folks won’t use a new way to do the same old things from people who have been doing the same things the old way for far too long to want to change.

They said the same thing about Elvis’ pelvis.

His gyrations would lead young women to sin.

They were right.

They said the same thing about rock and roll music and Ozzy and Dee Snyder.

The Moral Majority wanted to Mr. Roboto our ears.

They did.

Now we mostly get corporate auto-tuned crap broadcast in the same five song order across multiple radio stations owned by one big company.

I mean, why would we want to change that?!?

The point is, things need to be changed.

Again and again, because of the way our systems are set up.

So plan to shop LIVE at some point next year, just to see what it’s like.

I know I’m planning to EXPERIMENT with Youtube Live and Tik Tok (if they find a way around the ban) and adding a few more channels to the mix.

My hope is to find something that works for you, and for me, and for both of us. A win-win-win scenario.

But until then, let’s do some old fashioned trading.
