Simple Tips to build hungry readers

What do I write about in my emails to readers?

I know what you’re afraid of. You don’t want to sound too salesy or too sleazy or too pushy but that’s what you want the result to be. You want your readers to read a free sample and love it so much they go buy your book or every book in your series.

That’s what I want!

But, I’m also trying to build rapport and connect with the people who read my books. So I write to one person. One specific person, and I do it like I’m writing a letter.

I follow Seth Godin and Tim Ferris and they both do things I really like. Tim interviews awesome people in an effort to find out how high performing individuals operate. And Seth knows almost everything there is to know about marketing.

Seth writes 5 blog posts every day. Now when you think about a blog post, you may be thinking 500–1000 words, but what he does is:

he makes observations

he records his observations in written medium

Then he shares the best observation. If you follow his blog post, you get a notice when he’s posted. (everyday).

When you build a tribe as large as his, I recommend you take that approach. Maybe not daily blog posts, because as you’re building your audience you need to be a little more proactive and in their face so they get to know you.

So what should you write about?
