Jennie Stevens, nicknamed “Little Britches” because of her small size and cowboy clothing, was just 18 years old when she joined the notorious Doolin-Dalton Gang in 1894. While most girls her age were learning to cook and sew, Jennie was learning to rob trains and banks across Oklahoma Territory.

But here’s the crazy part — she wasn’t just along for the ride. Little Britches was a crack shot with a rifle and could ride horses better than most men. During one bank robbery in Ingalls, Oklahoma, she allegedly grabbed a Winchester rifle and held off an entire posse while her gang escaped.
