Why Are They Lying About Jobs?

Just a reminder.

Don’t believe the lies.

When the news or corporations tell you there is a worker shortage, it is a lie.

I know.

Because I applied to both Wal Mart and Amazon to make some extra money over the next three to six months.

One never responded and the other hired me.

For a start date in three weeks.

These are two of the biggest employers in America, and definitely the largest in the state.

Our news has been inundated with business owners saying “Nobody wants to work.”

Which is a great sound bite.

But not quite the truth.

I mean, as my partner likes to tell me, what does that say about me that WAL MART won’t even hire me?

Or that with an MBA and over 30 years of experience, the only job I’m qualified to do in Arkansas is work in an Amazon warehouse.

I counted on Indeed the other day.

I’ve applied to over one hundred jobs.

I’ve gotten two responses.

One was for a group interview that felt like it was last minute and accomplished exactly nothing.
